Twenty years from now, you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sail. Explore. Dream. Discover.
–Mark Twain

Mark Twain seems to be speaking of sails and bowlines and trade winds, but I know he is not literally talking of traveling. It talks about walking away from your comfort zone, trying things you’d normally not try, and taking the time to do what YOU REALLY WANT TO DO. It talks about living your life to the fullest.
I so love this quote and try to apply it to life. As much as I can, I try everything. I go where I want to and can go. I could say that most aspects of my life are not well planned. [Heck, the farthest I can plan is where I'll be traveling to next!] I go where my heart and mind take me at that moment. A bit irresponsible for others perhaps; but for me, it is my way of just taking what life gives me, taking the most out of it, and enjoying it in the process.
Must be the reason why I’ve gone from cooking to baking to sewing to photography, and many more others…why I might be someone you can consider a jill-of-all trades but master of none…why I go to many places and explore their beauty and culture…why I am in constant search of new knowledge…why I am willing to experience things I’ve never experienced before…why I have tried so many things and failed [but learned] in the process…and, most importantly, why I eat the dessert first.
For me, life is experiencing everything YOU CAN. And you have to start now!
Which brings us to my second favorite quote…
The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.
–Lao Tzu
Unless you take the first step, you won’t be going anywhere. So go and explore! Leave the safe harbor and feel the wind in your face! And take that first step now!

these are really good quotes. i do understand what you mean about just letting go of your concerns and fears and just live and learn. i do that too, and it makes my life a lot easier.
I strongly agree! this is the quote that would best apply to me right now. I am leaving my comfort zone from being an employee to an aspiring entrepreneur and try to pursue a childhood dream of having my own boutique, i am scared but like what said in the quote, i dont want to be disappointed by the things I didn’t do than by the ones i did, so im throwing away the bowline.
Nice post. Thanks for dropping by my blog.

that quote by mark twain is also my guiding line … trying to master my fear to do things out of my comfort zone… i can also relate to that “jill of all trades, master of none” ewan ko ba but i always want to learn how to do things, challenging kasi for me
